PC3 organisation

Scope

The Product Commission for Industrial Valves (PC3) covers all valves, actuators and associated products for all industrial applications.

Aims

PC3 represents the common technical and scientific interests of the manufacturer group. Mainly: 

• Following European regulations which are in force in preparation 
• Following standardisation work 
• Ensuring that any national technical studies complement such standardisation work

Means

In order to achieve its aims, PC3 

• Systematically reviews the status of relevant regulations and standardisation work 
• Activates specific WG when needed on specific subjects (to produce position papers, or propositions on draft EN), after y(at least 3 national representatives in each WG) 
• Elaborates consensual position papers and guidelines. These deliverables are then supported by each national association and each member of CEIR and communicated by European or national authorities. 
• Manages standardisation work in the interests of industry (elaboration of consensual policies to be supported by CEIR members in relevant CEN and ISO Technical Committees and Working Groups). 
• Allows members to exchange information on national technical studies, in order to facilitate, when needed, comparison on the content (not necessarily results) of these studies.

PC3 is organised as stipulated in the PC Guidelines issued by the CEIR Board.
